AC Foundation to Honor Carol and Sam Lovelady at 61st Annual Meeting

The Amarillo College Foundation will recognize longtime supporters Carol and Sam Lovelady with the prestigious Chairman’s Award during its 61st Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9.The award honors individuals and businesses whose commitment and generosity have left a lasting impact on Amarillo College and its students. For more than three decades, the Loveladys have been champions of education, the arts, and student success at AC.

AC Foundation honors Sims Architects with bestowal of Chairman’s Award

For unwavering support of Amarillo College that includes a generous leadership gift to AC’s comprehensive campaign and an insightful makeover of the Washington Street Campus fitness center, Sims + Architects has been named recipient of the AC Foundation’s annual Chairman’s Award.Majority owner Sheila Sims, who is a second-term member of the AC Foundation Board of Directors, accepted the illustrious accolade during the Foundation’s 60th Annual Meeting on Sept. 10 at the Amarillo Club.

AC Foundation gratified by $125,000 grant from Amarillo Area Foundation

A grant from the Amarillo Area Foundation (AAF) will go a long way toward helping Amarillo College students stave off food insecurities and keep their focus on academics even if beset by unexpected expenses like when a car breaks down or a utility bill exceeds expectations.

The Amarillo College Foundation is pleased to acknowledge a generous $125,000 grant from the AAF, funds that will be used to support the College’s Advocacy and Resource Center (ARC) – particularly its Food Pantry and fulfillment of emergency aid requests.

College will honor four Distinguished Alumni at a Luncheon on Oct. 3

A cherished Amarillo College tradition that was interrupted by the pandemic will be revived in a big way when four outstanding individuals receive AC's Distinguished Alumni Award, which was last presented in 2019.

The honorees are Dr. Pablo Diaz-Esquivel, Dr. Clint Esler, Mr. Matt Griffith, and Dr. Paul Matney, who not only attended the College as a freshman but went on to serve as its president from 2009-2014.

AC Foundation adds development officer, inaugural alumni coordinator

The Amarillo College Foundation is pleased to introduce a pair of newcomers who recently joined its dedicated staff – a development officer whose focus will be on the Liberal Arts Learning Community, and the first Alumni Coordinator in AC’s history.

Alumni Coordinator Katelynn Kenyon is a 2022 graduate of West Texas A&M University where she earned a bachelor of science degree in agricultural and media communication. A native of House, N.M., she served recently as a director of WTAMU’s new-student orientation program, Buff Branding.
